Creative Writing & Storytelling

We're going to explore all different kinds of writing, from short stories to sonnets, as well as different strategies for inspiration and execution. In addition to creating new work in many genres, we'll also spend time group-editing and critiquing each other's pieces in individual workshops. Kids will come out of this club with their own stories.

In this camp you will

  • Make your own short stories and poems.
  • Create characters and personas.
  • Choose your favorite genre and creating a story from start to finish.
  • Present your story to their camp peers and counselor.

What makes clubba camps special

Our camps are fun and interactive. They are led by counselors who actually have a passion for and a skillset in the camp theme. We focus on creative camp themes and relatable, energetic counselors. The team behind clubba camps founded virtual after school clubs, and is now offering virtual summer camps.

We keep our camp group size intentionally small with groups of 5 kids in each camp. We have creative activities in each session. Daily post-session follow up emails from your kid’s camp counselor letting you know what happened in the session and 3 questions to ask your kid so you can be impressed by what they created and by what they learned.

Meet the counselors

Raina Singh

Georgia Institute of Technology

I'm a 2nd year at Georgia Tech, studying aerospace engineering and robotics. From a young age I’ve always loved story-telling. I adore telling stories to my friends - the feeling of making ideas come alive is an amazing feeling. In high school I wrote for my school’s journal and literary magazine. Now I’m here to share my knowledge about character development, captivating plots, detailed backstories of characters, and the importance of settings! Through a multitude of different projects kids will develop their story-telling and writing abilities while increasing their self-confidence as they share their works with peers!

Taralee Arrowood

Kennesaw State University

Hi, I am Taralee and I am third year English Education major and Kennesaw State University. I am super excited to jump right into the teaching field, so I figured teaching a club in creative writing would be a great place to start. I have experience teaching children of all ages. I have years of experience teaching everything from swimming lessons to summer programs at my local church. I am super excited to dive right into the wonderful world of creative writing with these kiddos!

How to participate

A few weeks before your camp’s start date, you will receive a zoom link, an intro to your camp counselor, and your supply list via an amazon link to make it easy to buy.

Each session is 2 hours and we emphasize no parent involvement during the session. This means we keep your kid creating and doing activities while you get your work done.

You’ll receive your receipt with clubba’s EIN so you can keep those for tax credit/company reimbursement.
A member of our team will email you closer to your camp’s start date with plenty of info.
